Ethics, Spirituality, Religion, & A.I.
As the merger of humans and machines moved forward, ethical, spiritual, and religious views shifted with new forms of belief emerging. Many of these beliefs centered on the ideas that human immortality was preordained and that forms of AI were the natural extension in the evolution of life. Several new religions sent AI probes into space following the notion that this was the ultimate evolutionary goal of life. All traditional religions had branches that either embraced the human machine merger or reacted against it. All belief systems were forced to deal with the central question, “what does it mean to be human?”
